Website's History

It was the year of 1998 when Zaid Asfour started to work closely with the Internet and moreover started to design web pages. In summer of 1998 he attended a computer course entitled "Internet & HTML" in Amman Business Institute in Jabal Amman. This course encouraged Zaid to work more with HTML, and made him design his own website in the beginnings of year 2000.

The rapid computer courses Zaid participated in made him more interested in publishing his own website into the World Wide Web. With the great courage he had from his Uncle Mr. Bassam Asfour, he started to gain all the requested information and to prepare the data for web publishing.

The outstanding student got a grade of Excellent after completing a Web Page Design course in Computeach International Center in Al-Madeena Al-Monawwara St. This course included HTML, FrontPage, Macromedia Flash and JavaScript. Zaid's project for the course was his first website to publish on the Internet.

Zaid chose Geocities - the web hosting agent for Yahoo - to host his website. The address which is still in service was: www.geocities.com/zoooz85 ...

Visitors of Zaid's website were mainly his relatives and friends. Around 100 visitors visited the website on its first day. They were all astonished with the great idea that Zaid had.

Gradually the website was updated and upgraded to cover new areas and handle new demands. A music section was added and had many new visitors. The guestbook was signed by many people who they are highly appreciated from Zaid Asfour. Comments and opinions from the guestbook were taken into consideration in subsequent updates of the website.

After a long journey with Geocities it was time to have Zaid's own domain. After a long time of searching, Zaid found the perfect and new partner to host his upgraded website. Cleverdot.Net hosted the new website, with the new domain name: www.zaid85.com ...

One of the stages of Zaid85.Com:

The new domain requested a new philosophy for the website. Why? The websites' functions had to be changed and widen. The website was used by Zaid as hard disk on the Internet to share a lot of stuff with his friends, relatives and even his colleagues in the university. Moreover the website had to interact more with its visitors, enabling them to participate in the field they are interested in. The high demand on music requested a Music Administrator to handle the requests and to upload new music to all the visitors of Zaid85.Com.

The new philosophy has been set. Its published on the website so everybody can understand the purpose and the function of Zaid85.Com.

Now Zaid85.Com has an average of visits that exceeds 100 visits per day, and more than 3000 visits per month. The website started to be under daily supervision to meet the demands of the websites' surfers.

But what do the future hide? Zaid85.Com believes in a saying for George Bernard Shaw which states: "We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future". Zaid85.Com aims to increase participations from visitors. Visitors of Zaid85.Com are highly welcomed to publish any material that add value to the website. People who are willing to work with HTML and FrontPage and like to taste the experience that Zaid had, are also welcomed here. They can have their own area (i.e. subdomain) on the website to work on and develop.
